Job description:
As an AML & Risk Operations Associate, you will be responsible for executing day-to-day financial crime controls, including KYC verification, identity reviews, account integrity checks, and PEP, sanctions and adverse media screening across our European markets, with a touchpoint on the UK. Your work helps ensure our platform remains a safe environment that meets the rigorous standards of our electronic money institution (EMI) licences.
You will join our core AML & Risk Operations department, the engine room of Vinted Pay. We are a team of professionals dedicated to protecting our millions of users and the integrity of our financial ecosystem across multiple jurisdictions.
This is a hands-on, high-volume operational role. Your days will be built around working through queues of similar cases to a consistent, high standard, following established procedures. It suits someone who finds satisfaction in accuracy, routine and reliable delivery, and who takes pride in the fact that this steady work is what keeps our controls running. You will report to an AML Team Lead, collaborate with Specialist and Senior Specialists in our department, as well as our Compliance stakeholders.
In this position, you’ll primarily
Manage PEP screening alerts: Review and resolve potential matches against PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) lists as the business migrates its book onto the Vinted Pay rails
Manage sanctions and adverse media screening: Review and resolve potential matches against global sanctions and adverse media lists
Perform KYC and identity verification reviews: Conduct robust identity checks, including reviewing cases flagged for further scrutiny, to ensure every user on the Vinted platform is who they say they are
Review account cases: Assess accounts that require additional checks, in line with Vinted’s platform rules and internal procedures
Document your work: Record every case clearly and consistently, following internal procedures, so decisions can be reviewed and are ready for regulatory audits
Requirements:
Genuine interest in AML/Compliance
Comfortable with repetitive, process-driven work and able to stay focused and accurate across high volumes
Reliable and consistent, with strong attention to detail
Clear written and spoken English
Ability to spot inconsistencies across documents and user information
Strong documentation discipline
Ability to prioritise cases based on risk, geography and the nature of the alert
Company offers:
The opportunity to benefit from our share options programme
25 working days of holiday
Access to all the tools & tech needed for work
Home office support: we provide IT workstation equipment and a personal budget of up to 8540 for home workplace furniture
Private health insurance
Mental and emotional health support through the Mindletic app
Frequent team-building events
A personal monthly budget for shopping on Vinted
The opportunity to spend up to 90 days per year - 21 of which can be spent working outside…
